SOS: Students for an Orwellian Society

Lately I've been re-reading Orwell's 1984 for the first time since high school. It's still interesting and I wondered what people are writing about it lately. SOS: Students for an Orwellian Society use Newspeak terms to describe some features of today's society, particularly in light of the USA PATRIOT Act (HR 3162) of 2001. I, for one, sure hope that we succeed in creating a fully Orwellian society, for I wouldn't want any group of people to take any or all of my freedoms unless a plurality of my peers had first elected that group's bosses based on what they saw on FCC-approved prime-time television.

"Creationism and Evolution Resources"

Creationism and Evolution Resources summarizes the positions without apparent partiality and with respect to the various parties. The site includes links to many or most of the most prominent organizations involved and is adorned by some gorgeous photographs, properly credited. I recommend it as a starting point for readers seeking a broad-based understanding of this controversy. (The site's author is my friend Joe, who is now a library science student.)
